What happens in a Craniosacral Therapy Session
Craniosacral Therapy with Vivien Ray
Craniosacral Therapy is a gentle hands-on therapy which assists people’s natural capacity to self-heal whatever their age or state of health. (Although the name, Craniosacral Therapy, may suggest that it is a therapy for heads, it is a healing method for the whole body.)
Pain, tension and anxiety may cause you to lose faith in life and happiness.
Craniosacral Therapy (CST) can help you heal and regain balance and confidence.
Craniosacral Therapy can help you recover after accidents, illness or stressful events and regain health and well-being.
You may be pregnant or thinking about becoming pregnant, or want help for a baby or child, .
CST is not a substitute for medical help. The practice focuses on the health of the body and its natural self-healing. In your sessions we will become explorers together to help you release old hurts, undo the effects of traumatic events and reach a sense of stillness and peace where you can heal.
With gentle touch, a Craniosacral Therapy practitioner tunes in to rhythms at the core of the body.
During your treatment I will be paying attention to subtle movements within the body which maintain health. Where these systems have become disorganised, Craniosacral Therapy can help the body to reorganise.
Craniosacral Therapy does not adjust the body, there are no “clicks and clunks”. It is a therapy that allows the body to find a healthy way of being for itself.
As the body returns to health, it is possible to experience the world as a comfortable place to be: we regain a deep sense of well-being which informs our experience of the world around us.
A bit about me
In 1998 I completed my training with the Craniosacral Therapy Education Trust in London and started my Craniosacral Therapy practice. I had, and still have, a sense of homecoming in the subtlety and potency of the work.
My post-graduate training has focused on areas in which I have a special interest, particularly birth, babies and families, shock and trauma and increasing my knowledge of the amazing way the body works.
When my children were young I taught antenatal classes and trained other teachers for the National Childbirth Trust. This awoke my interest in body work and healing.
I am committed to helping parents through pregnancy and childbirth and working with babies and children. I have accompanied many women through the birth of their babies and I offer sessions for women in labour when I can.
